
For Girls and Boys ages 8-11 years Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
These textile- art classes will explore all of the fun ways in which you can use fiber and nature from the farm to create fun textile art pieces. Meet the resident farm animals and enjoy the wooded trails of the park searching for treasures in nature to add to your art projects!
Each class or art project consists of two ½ day sessions. The project is started on Tuesday and completed on Thursday of each week. Classes will be $25.00/week. If you sign up for all 6 weeks by July 10th, the cost is $125.00 for the summer!

Fun-damentals of Fiber Summer Camp for Kids

Learn the beginning art of weaving. Using a flat board and straight pins to make the loom, we will use ribbons to create a weaving that is made into a product of your choice including an overnight pillow, wall hanging for your room, or placemats and gifts. |

| No visit to Knox Farm is the same without a special greeting from our resident farm cat “BOB”! Now you can create your own hand-made soft cat that looks like this lovable fat cat at the farm. You will stuff him and hand-paint him to look like the real thing | ||||
| July 29 and July 31 | 9am-12pm | Sun Printing | ||
| Harness a little solar power to create stunning shadow designs on fabric. You will find the process fun and exciting. We will use various nature items from the park to create your own custom designs! The printed fabric can then be used to make anything of your choice. | ||||
| August 5 and August 7 | 9am-12pm | Peg Loom Weaving | ||
| Learn basic weaving on a traditional wooden peg loom. By using wool fleece, yarns, strings, fabric, and items from nature you will create a beautiful textile weaving that you can make into a tapestry wall hanging or chair pad for your room or a bag or satchel for just about anything. | ||||

| Be as creative as you can in making these FUN “nature hats” from various fibers including specialty paper or cloth. Embellish & decorate each hat with items of nature from the farm. Make it a party hat, celebration hat for special events or just for fun! | ||||

9am-12pm | Paper Making and Bookbinding | ||
Paper just doesn’t grow on trees- It comes from various forms of fibers. Learn the whole process of making paper and create your own special collection. We will even be environmentally conscious and learn how to RECYCLE old paper into new! Then, you will bind the finished paper sheets into a special keepsake book. |
