Friends Manage Main House Rentals
Earlier this year, the Friends submitted a proposal to the state regarding operation of the main house for the purpose of renting the premises to the public for gatherings. Our proposal was accepted in August.
All profits made in house rentals will be assigned to a restricted fund dedicated to improvements to the house along historic preservation guidelines and state requirements.
The Friends would like to thank the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for providing us with the opportunity to raise funding for Main House improvements by managing its rentals.
Rental Fees, Policies and Agreements
This website is currently under construction. When it is complete, you will be able to find a rental contract for private parties, information pertaining to rental deposits, security deposits, rental policies and a music agreement. At this time, house rental rates are low as they reflect the kitchen and furniture situation in the house.
There will be a list of caterer's requirements as well as information pertaining to group size limitations. The House Committee of the Friends Board will be comprising a list of preferred caterers. If caterers who are not on that list comply with all requirements during a gathering, they may be added to that list.
Vendors, agents, employees, and guests will attend and use the Main House facilities at their own risk. The Main House shall not be liable for any damage arising from personal injuries sustained by any such damage. The Knox Farm State Park and Friends of Knox Farm State Park, Inc., and its staff shall not be liable for any equipment, property or personal belongings, whether rental or otherwise, which are used or left at the Main House. In consideration of being granted the right to use the Knox Main House facilities, the renter hereby releases and holds harmless employees of the Knox Farm State Park, the State of New York, its commissioners, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or rights of actions rising out of such use of the Main House and its facilities.
